YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR: Whenever I am At The Verge Of Quitting, I Think Of All The People I Need To Prove Wrong – CEO KRYSTALITE EVENTS

CAN WE MEET YOU?
My  name is Adebanjo Eunice Oluwatobi. I am a native of Ijebu-Ago Iwoye, Ogun State. I come from a family of five, I am the first child. I am a Christian. I am a Management and Accounting student of Obafemi Awolowo University. I am the C.E.O of Krystalite Wedding and Events, an event planning outfit.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I really do not have much of a hobby, but I love learning new things, especially when it  has to do with events planning. I also love to read books.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP
It started about four years ago. I was  still in secondary school, S.S. 3 precisely. I just unconsciously found myself falling in love with watching events and how they were planned. I started downloading a lot of these videos, trying to learn more about planning events and how and what I could do to be different. The love for events and planning just grew by the years and here I am.

HOW HAS YOUR GROWING UP INFLUENCED YOUR CHOICE OF CAREER?
Well, to be honest, growing up with event planning on my mind wasn’t very easy. As a matter of fact, I never got any support  from any of my parents so it was quite difficult expressing what I love to do because at the end of the day, there was always no one to encourage me. I guess the way it has influenced me however, is that right now, I kind of want to prove myself right that and in a funny way, prove my parents wrong that event planning is actually a career.

WHAT CHALLENGED YOU IN STARTING YOUR BUSINESS IN SPITE OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AROUND US?
Hmm, I would say what really challenged me is the passion I have always had for event planning. I really want to make  people happy by planning events.
AS A YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR, WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO PUSH FOR SUCCESS?
Well, like I said earlier, I have always  wanted to be a planner, but I have hardly gotten support, so whenever I am at the verge of quitting, I think of all the people I need to prove wrong, and I find myself back up. More so, I am very passionate about event planning. I do not see it as work but fun.
WHO IS/ARE YOUR ROLE MODEL?
Wow, I have a couple. Zapphire Events, Bisola TrendyBee Events, 2706 events, Magna Events, Laheiress, 3003 Events and The Wedding Guru.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST FEAR AS A YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR?
My greatest fear I would say is not being able to satisfy a client has I would have loved to, like planning an event and it flops.
WHAT ROLE HAS YOUR GENDER PLAYED IN ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS AS A YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR?
Well, it’s no news that people actually believe that event planning is a ‘woman thing’, this is evidenced by the number of women in the events industry.
WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS?
Hmm, it’s not easy o. But then, I will advise any prospective entrepreneur out there to pray, pray again, work, and pray again.
WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON THE STATE OF THE NATION?
The state we are right now is quite discouraging. I just hope and pray that we get to the promise land someday.
